Francisco Velasquez Jr. passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family Friday February 28, 2025. Francisco was born in El Oso, Texas, on August 25, 1950 to Francisco Velasquez Sr. and Juanita Damas Velasquez. He married Josephine Lopez March 3, 1978 in Ralls, Texas and has resided in Ralls since. Francisco, who was also known as Nuno, worked as a farm hand for Morrison farms in Lorenzo, Texas, Lorenzo Textile Mill and Wiley's manufacturing in Petersburg before retiring.

Francisco is preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Jose and Guadalupe Calderon, brothers Angel, Rudy, and Fred Velasquez, Martha Velasquez.

He is survived by his wife Josie Velasquez of Ralls, Elsie Colon of Ralls, Michael Lopez and wife Diana of Acuff, Mark Lopez, Leslie Bowdoin of Lubbock, and De Lina Lopez of Ralls. Siblings; Olivia Velasquez,  Arturo Vicente Velasquez, Elsa Tina Belyeu, David and Susie Velasquez, and sister-in law Gloria Velasquez. Grandchildren; Juan Carlos, Justin Colon, Anna Castillo, Valerie Bitler, Danny, and Ryan Lopez, Kenzie Sellers and Osean Lopez. He also leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
