Francisco "Frank" Chavez, Sr., 79, of Lubbock and formerly of Ralls, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.

Frank was born January 29, 1942 in Blue Town, TX to Eligio and Cipriana Navarro Chavez. He married Aurelia Romero on April 21, 1961 in Corpus Christi, TX. He was a farmer who loved the land and being outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, and just going out and driving around on back roads.

He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, and a great provider for his family.

Frank is survived by his wife, Aurelia; one son, Frank Chavez, Jr. (Mireya) of Lubbock; three daughters, Rose Pena (Peter) of Lubbock, Frances Chavez of Lubbock, and Mary Maldonado (Tony) of Petersburg; one brother, Luciano Chavez of Hamlin, TX; six sisters, Benigna Villanueva of Abilene, Rosa Lozano of Anson, TX, Sylvia Chavez of Abilene, Hermina Chavez and Criselda Davila both of Austin, and Consuelo Chavez of Atlanta, GA; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Becky Calderon; two brothers, Florentino Chavez and Silvano Chavez; and one sister, Yolanda Chavez, and one grandson, Martin A. Maldonado Jr.
