Esmeralda Contreras, 54, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at her residence. She was born April 12, 1971 in Lockney, TX to Joe and Luisa Martinez Contreras. She came from a large family with three brothers and eight sisters.

Esmeralda worked as a farm hand for several years, and later as a housekeeper. She enjoyed singing, dancing and playing pool. She also loved to draw.

She is survived by her mother, Luisa Contreras of Ralls;  three brothers, Joe Contreras of Lubbock, Frank Contreras of Ralls and Jessie Contreras of Plainview, TX; seven sisters, Luisa Gonzales of Ralls, Mary Trevino of Lubbock, Yolanda Zavala and husband Jose of Ralls, Christina Tarin and Lencia Lara both of Ralls, Lupe Soto and husband Servando of Winfield, KS and Jessica Contreras of Ralls; and numerous nieces, nephews and Cousins.

Esmeralda was preceded in death by her father;  one sister, Anita Hernandez; two nieces, Amanda Villarreal and Racheal Contreras; two nephews, Noe Trevino and Alex Sarinana; and brother-in-law, Luis Gonzales.
