A visitation will be held Friday December 14 from 5-6 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

Emma was quite an achiever while in school. One of her greatest accomplishments in high school was when she won the National 4H Competition and got to go to Chicago as a 4H Representative. After graduating she decided to further her education and attended college at Las Cruces New Mexico State. While completing her studies she would ride the bus to White Sands where she was employed as a tap coder during the time of the Atom Bomb. She also met the love of her life Jim while attending college.  They got married on May 25, 1947 in Portales, NM. and were married for 70 wonderful years. Soon after marriage their journey together would embark in Floyd, NM where they owned and operated a farm and dairy. Jim managed the Bethel Gin until 1965, and then bought the Medlock's Estacado Gin. She had very good instincts for selling cotton and was one of the best at it until they retired. For two years running they had the best grades in the area. Emma had many talents, one of which was playing the piano for the Methodist Church for many years. She loved to garden and tend to her flowers. She also loved to crochet blankets for her grandchildren, great grandchildren and even her great-great grandchild. She will be truly missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her son Douge Medlock.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters; Gayle Reese of Lubbock, Nyla Medlock of Lubbock, and Janet Butler and her husband Jeff of Lubbock, seven grandchildren; Shane Medlock and wife Tanya, Adam Medlock, Angel Green and husband Jay, Crystal Cartner and husband Steven, Jana Soto and husband John, Jessica Truelock and husband Matt, Jordan Butler and wife Amery, fourteen great grandchildren and one great- great- grandchild.
