Edward Benton Merrick, 87 of Ralls passed away September 11, 2022 with his loving family by his side. He was born August 6, 1935 in Stanton, Texas to Jess Maligan Merrick and Edna Elizabeth Jinkins. He married the love of his life Oleda Jo Johnson on January 25, 1970 in Lamesa, Texas. Edward was a man of many skills; he loved woodworking, making model airplanes, and making anything the family needed. He also loved traveling and camping. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Oleda Merrick; his daughter, Cynthia Ann Merrick-Timms and Joel DeWayne Timms of Brownwood; his son, Michael Edward and Michelle Merrick of Merkel; his brother, Darrell Hudspeth Merrick of Lubbock; his sisters, Barbarah Elaine Thigpen of Houston, Maida Karen Dingus of Lames; and two grandchildren, Austin Olin Merrick and James Benton Merrick.

Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at the O'Donnell Cemetery in O'Donnell, Texas. Services are under the direction Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
