Delores Jennings

Delores Jennings won her battle with Parkinson's disease on November 15, 2017, at the age of 79. She passed peacefully in her Lorenzo home, surrounded by her family.

Delores was born in New Deal, Texas to J.O. and Edith Scarbrough on September 10, 1938, but moved to Lorenzo shortly after. She was a longtime Hornet, but left school in 10th grade to study cosmetology. Delores taught beauty school in Brownfield for awhile, but continued to use her skills even when she wasn't paid for it. Known as "Pug" by a few, Delores was "Granny" to everyone. In past years, she was active in the Red Hat Society, First Baptist Churches in Lorenzo and Ralls, Bible studies and several Colorado mission trips. Granny was fond of sunflowers, adored her dog, Belle, and loved her family fiercely. She longed to see Jesus face to face, and there is no doubt she is rejoicing in Heaven at this very moment.

Delores is preceded in death by a brother, Billy Joe Scarbrough, and a son, Bobby Wade Norman. She will be forever remembered by her daughter, Thea Bloys of Lorenzo, daughter Tina Schoepf and husband Bryan of Lorenzo, son Terry Norman and wife Tisha of Lorenzo, and son Calvin Jennings of Grand Prairie, along with 21 grandchildren, 15.5 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.  Delores is also survived by her brothers, Ronald Scarbrough, Carroll Scarbrough and Edward Scarbrough, as well as numerous other family members.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 18 at 6:00 pm at Adams Funeral Home in Lorenzo. Services will be at Ralls First Baptist Church at 3:00 pm on Sunday with interment following in City of Lorenzo cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.
