In the ancient Hebrew language, the name "David" translates as "beloved one, beloved of God!"

July 1, our beloved, David, met Father God face to face. David now sits in the presence of the One who knows his true name and calls him a man most loved and closest to His heart. If you knew David, you know something of what it might feel like to be touched by the Father's heart and why he will always be beloved to us who were blessed to have him in our lives.

David Clyde Simmons was born on November 23, 1949, in Crosbyton, Texas, to Elmer Clyde and Johnnie Bell Edgar Simmons. David met and married Penny Sanders and had many happy years together, he loved loud classic cars, farming, spending time with his family who he loved deeply, David loved and enjoyed life. He will be missed dearly by his friends and loved ones. We love you, David.

David is preceded by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Penny of Lorenzo, a son Dustin Simmons and wife Callie of Crosbyton, a daughter Jennifer Simmons Marshal of Longview, a sister Judy Mann and husband Tony of Ropes, and seven grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Lorenzo Chamber of Commerce.
