David Shelton Rogers, 78, of Crosbyton, died December 12, 2019.  He was born March 17, 1941 in Wausau, FL to Leo and Evie Dee (Pippens) Rogers.  He was a 1959 graduate of Bay High School in Panama City, FL.  David served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 to 1968. He joined the Bay County Sheriff's Dept. in 1969 as law enforcement and earned law enforcement of the year honors.  He also served with Jackson and Washington Couny Sheriff Deptartments, and as an investigator for the St. Joe police Dept.  He married Gracemarie "Cookie" Galvano on June 3, 1995 in Wausau, FL.

David is survived by his wife Cookie of Crosbyton; four daughters, Becky Dee Baxley of Vernon, FL, Theresa Rogers of CA, Phyllis Pettis of Crosbyton, and Francis Galvano of VA; three sons, David Rogers Jr., Steve Rogers, and Tony Granger; two sisters, Dottie Carroll of Chipley, FL and Judy Jenkins of Vernon, FL; one brother, Roy Rogers of Chipley, FL; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Bruce Rogers; one sister, Elaine Johns; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Galilee Baptist Church in Crosbyton with Rev. Billy Wylie officiating.
