She was born in Lubbock, TX. Her childhood years were spent in Savage, TX. She attended Ralls schools from elementary school to graduation in 1967. She was active in school as a cheerleader and played basketball for the Jackrabbits.
She married the love of her life, Mike Carlisle, November 22, 1967 in Ralls. They moved to Lubbock while Mike pursued his degree from Texas Tech. At that point, she began her journey as a homemaker. During their time in Lubbock, they welcomed two sons, Michael Scott Carlisle born April 9, 1969 and Skipper Dale Carlisle, born October 20, 1970. Upon Mike's graduation in 1971, they returned to Ralls where they began farming. Dannie was heavily involved in daily farming operations along with maintaining the household and raising their sons, which she took great pride in. Most of her time was spent attending and supporting her children's activities, such as sports, 4-H, stockshow projects, as well as many others. Once the boys graduated from Ralls High School and were off to college, Mike and Dannie moved back to Lubbock to pursue other careers. Dannie worked as an office manager for two different physicians for several years. She officially retired in 2007.
She was a devoted, caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time cooking and spending time with family and friends. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas. Family Christmas at her house was epic, which included everyone's favorite dishes, games and music. In later years, Mike and Dannie enjoyed traveling together, especially to Ruidoso, NM. They also went to Hawaii and Alaska, which were two places on her bucket list.
While living in Ralls, Mike and Dannie were longstanding members of Emma Church of Christ. Once they returned to Lubbock, they attended Sunset Church of Christ. Dannie's faith in the Word and our Lord and Savior is something she held near and dear to her heart.
She was preceded in death by her mom and dad, Gladys and Nelton Chote and her brother, Dale Chote whom all lived in Ralls, TX.
Those who will continue to cherish her memories are her husband of 58 years, Mike Carlisle, her son, Scott Carlisle and wife, Darcy of Lorena, TX; son, Skipper Carlisle and wife, Christal of Shawnee, KS; 3 grandsons, Zach Carlisle and wife, Amanda of Hutto, TX, Barrett Carlisle and wife, Jara of Leavenworth, KS and Cooper Carlisle and wife, Jenna of Leavenworth, KS.
