On September 24 th, 2026, Clifford Paul Boling embarked on his greatest and final adventure, leaving behind a legacy filled with laughter, kindness, courage, and unforgettable memories.

Cliff approached life with a spirit of curiosity and wonder. Whether he was kayaking down a river, hiking a canyon, or setting out toward an unknown destination simply to see what he might discover, he embraced every opportunity to experience life to its fullest. He believed the journey was just as important as the destination, and he inspired those around him to be bold, adventurous, and open to life's possibilities.

Born on May 15, 1960, in California to Gene and Joan Boling, Cliff spent his childhood alongside his beloved sister, Angela, as the family made their way through Las Cruces, New Mexico, and later to Texas. Those early years helped shape the independent, adventurous man who would spend a lifetime collecting stories, friendships, and experiences that many only dream of having.

Cliff is survived by his loving and devoted sister, Angela Boling, who stood by his side throughout his many adventures and remained one of his greatest supporters.

Cliff also leaves behind his beloved wife and adventure partner, Glenda. In their 15 years together, they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Though their time together was far too short, Glenda often said that Cliff filled her life with joy through countless adventures, amazing road trips, and a beautiful family she never imagined she would have. His love, kindness, and adventurous spirit enriched her life in ways that will be cherished forever. Cliff will also be deeply missed by his loyal sidekick, Honi, who faithfully accompanied him on many of his travels and adventures.

He is also survived by Curtis and Ron Herring, Elijah Estrada, and Shannon Stetcher, who were more than friends. They were brothers in every way that mattered, sharing a lifetime of loyalty, laughter, and memories.

Cliff leaves behind his beloved children: Sarah (Siva) Kanagaratnam, Sheena (Austin) Escalon, Shiloh (Peggy) Boling, Sable (Archer) Taylor, and Reas (Dina) Axtell, affectionately known by Cliff as his favorite "Outlaws." Each of them carried a special place in his heart and brought him immeasurable happiness.

Nothing, however, brought Cliff greater joy than his grandchildren. His face would light up whenever he spoke about Sydney Ramirez, Lola Smith, Kyra Axtell, Drake (Alison) Axtell, Kaeden Axtell, Daxton Axtell, Jasper Axtell, Daphne Escalon, Ryker Escalon, Kree Escalon, Charley Boling, Stevie Jo Boling, Sahana Kanagaratnam, and Chloe Canales. Their love, laughter, and accomplishments were among the greatest blessings of his life.

One of Cliff's greatest joys was welcoming his great-grandson, Carson, into the world. Having the opportunity to see Carson begin life's journey filled him with happiness and gratitude.

Cliff also held a lifelong love for Weed, New Mexico, where some of his most treasured childhood memories were made. The mountains, family traditions, and adventures shared there helped shape the man he became. He held a special place in his heart for the Walker family, especially Uncle Bill, Randy, Shannon, Daina, DawnDee, and LeeAnn Pierce, whose love and presence enriched his life through the years.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Joan Boling; his infant brother, Brent, and Leesa Boling, the mother of his children. Kuk, Cliff’s beloved dog will be waiting in heaven to greet him again.

In true Cliff fashion, his final wish was to continue traveling with the people he loved. His ashes will be shared among family and friends so that he may accompany them on future adventures to the places that brought him joy throughout his life. Through every journey, every new road, every mountain vista, and every gathering of loved ones, a part of Cliff's adventurous spirit will live on.

A celebration of Cliff's extraordinary life and many adventures will be held on October 1 st , 2026 at 5:00pm at the Idalou Community Center 202 W 7 th St. in Idalou, Texas. Friends and family will gather to share stories, laughter, and memories of a man who truly lived life on his own terms. This will be a very casual and relaxed gathering. At Cliff's request, please do not send flowers for his celebration of life. Your thoughts, prayers, and cherished memories are appreciated as we gather to honor his memory.

A second celebration of his life will also be held in Las Cruces, New Mexico, at a later date. 

Though Cliff's earthly adventures have come to an end, his spirit remains in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He taught us to embrace the unknown, cherish our loved ones, seek joy wherever we find it, and never stop exploring.
