Cindy Kay
Oglesby
May 14, 1952 — May 22, 2025
Midland
Cindy Kay Oglesby departed this life on May 22nd, 2025 in Slaton, TX. She was born to Brose
and Angela Oglesby on May 14th, 1952, in Lubbock, TX.
Cindy had many passions when it came to helping the ones she cared about. During her lifetime
she was a social worker, a seamstress, a costume designer, and an actress. You could say that
she was a queen of many trades, as she had no limits to what she could excel at. She was a
supporter, an advocate, and a voice for those who couldn't express the words themselves.
Cindy was very involved in advocating for Child Protection Services, Adult Protections Services,
and seniors who suffered from Alzheimers and Dementia. When she wasn't fighting for other
people's rights, she was very integrated into the theatre. Although she was a wonderful actress,
she was an even better costume designer. Everyone loved working with her and appreciated
how much she valued her work, no matter how small the project was.
Cindy was survived by her one and only son; Josh Chaney and wife Julia Gee-Chaney, two
brothers; Mike Oglesby and Eddie Oglesby, and her three grandchildren; Kara Parent, Kaden
Chaney, and Zach Chaney.
There are no services scheduled at this time.
In lieu of flowers the family would like for donations to be towards any Alzheimers and Dementia
charity.
