Charles Lee Watkins, 80, of Lorenzo passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Lubbock, Texas on October 4, 1934 to Dennis and Geggie Watkins. He married Jean Cameron in Lubbock, Texas on July 29, 1960. Charles loved the land and animals, and especially enjoyed fishing. He greatly treasured his children and grandchildren, and took pleasure in giving them all nicknames.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Geggie; and one sister; Doris Manley.
He is survived by his wife Jean of Lorenzo; three daughters; Denece Noble of Lubbock; Donna Roberts of Lorenzo; Geggie Sanders and husband Terry of Lubbock; two sons; David Watkins and wife Marie of Amarillo; Douglas Watkins of Big Spring; two sisters Oleta Simmons of Lubbock; Melva Smith of Idalou; twelve grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 7-8 pm at Adams Funeral Home in Lorenzo. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Thursday, July 23, at the Lorenzo Cemetery, under the care of Adams Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at www.adamsfuneral.com
