Charles Dale Matheny, 59, of Ralls passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016 in Lubbock. Charles was born to Truman Matheny and Irene (Glenn) Land on July 14, 1956 in Brownfield, Texas. He married Sherry Wright on January 1, 1974 in Ralls, Texas. Charles was a proud member of Iron Workers Union#263 for 20 years. He loved watching NASCAR and football, spending time at the lake and listening to Classic Rock. Charles loved having fun and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Truman Horace Matheny and his brother, Billy Wayne Matheny.

Charles is survived by his wife, Sherry Matheny of Ralls; his mother and step-father; Irene and Floyd Land of Lindale, Texas; three daughters; Lisa Contreras of Stephenville; Heather Matheny of Ralls; and Cassie Jones of Lubbock; his sister, Debbie McGuire of Gun Barrel City, Texas; and ten grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 17 at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls. Arrangements are under the care of Adams Funeral Home.
