Carol Raye Akeroyd, 78 of Lubbock passed away with her family by her side on Sunday August 11, 2024. She was born June 11, 1946, in Crosbyton, Texas (lived in Ralls, Texas) to Theron and Willie Mae Holland. She married Michael "Jerry" Akeroyd on September 9, 1966, in Lubbock Texas. Carol spent her career teaching young children as a Childcare Coordinator (Pre-K) at Indiana Baptist Church in Lubbock and Gardendale Baptist Church in Corpus Christi, Texas. She loved animals, especially rescue dogs. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and instilled Christian values in her children and grandchildren. She loved spending special times with her family, children, and grandchildren, especially the quality times with her three sisters laughing and telling old stories. Carol had a big heart always caring and giving sweet advice to family and friends. Her sweet spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents.

Those left to cherish her memory are, her husband of fifty-eight years, Jerry Akeroyd, mother-in-law Nell Akeroyd; three sons and daughter-in-laws Anthony and Jessie Akeroyd, Robbie and Stephanie Akeroyd, and Michael Akeroyd and Kathryn Comfort, seven grandchildren; William Akeroyd, Courtney Akeroyd, and Michelle Raye Akeroyd, Dalton Pierson, Cole Pierson, Sean Lara and Bradley Jones. And her sisters; Linda Mowery, Jean Goade and her husband/brother-in-law Gary "Coleman" Goade and Judy Patterson of Lubbock, Texas.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday August 15, 2024, at the Ralls Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday August 15, 2024, at the Monterey Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas.
