Billy Russell Simpson, 95, of Crosbyton, Texas, died peacefully on October 25, 2024 at Lynnwood Assisted Living Center, Tahoka, Texas.  Billy was born February 14, 1929 in Farmer, Texas, the son of Walter E. and Ethel Simpson.  Billy attended school in Ralls and Crosbyton before joining the Navy in 1948.  Billy was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida until his discharge when he returned to Crosbyton and married Cora Mae Suttle in 1951.  They were happily married for 64 years.  Billy was a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner. He farmed for many years and loved to fish and play golf.

Billy was preceded in death by his wife Cora, his parents, his brother Gary Duane Simpson and two sisters, Nova Marley and Joyce Porter.  Billy is survived by his daughter Donna Arnold and husband Randy of Crosbyton, Texas and his son Joe Simpson and wife M'Lou of Lubbock, Texas; his grandchildren Ricci Gomez and husband Adrian of Richardson Texas, Staci Myatt and husband Scott of Fairview, Texas, Jeff Graham and wife Tonya of O'Donnell, Texas, Reid Arnold and wife Betsy of Spur, Texas, Amy Simpson of Dallas, Texas, Rusty Simpson and wife Nicole of Lubbock, Texas, and Michael Simpson of Dallas, Texas; and great grandchildren Brandon, Blake and Emily Allen, Sebastian Gomez, Wesley, Will and Ivy Myatt, Lincoln and London Graham, Bryn and Gavin Arnold, and Luke, Drew and Lane Simpson.

A private family graveside service will be held in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.  The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for him during his illness.
