Billy Joe "Buck" Jones, 88 of Slaton passed away Saturday July 6, 2019 in Lubbock, Texas.  He was born September 27, 1930 in Ralls, Texas to Robert B. and Dona (Arnold) Jones.  He served in the Air Force where he learned to be a mechanic and then spent the majority of his life as a mechanic. He was a member of the VFW, and Fraternal Order of Eagles.  He enjoyed riding horses, going on trail rides and spending time with his family.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Nancy Gail; one step-son Jesse Ray Fehland; one granddaughter Jordan Phillips; three brothers: James Jones, Hatton Jones, and Robert Jones Jr; and three sisters: Clara Lee Barlow, Dolly Watson, and Zona Holt.

Billy is survived by two daughters: Janice Elmore and her husband Dwayne of Slaton (formerly of Spur),Donna Lindsey and her husband Merle of Joshua Tree, CA; two sons: Joe Miller and his wife Yvonne of Spur and Billy Jones and his wife Kathy of Amarillo, TX.    He also leaves behind two sisters: Cleeta Carley of Lubbock, and Patsy Roddy of Garland, Texas.  Billy Joe will be additionally missed by his sixteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and other cherished family members, and a host of treasured friends.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday July 12, 2019 at Parkway Drive Church of Christ in Lubbock, Texas.
