Billie Ray Steward was called home by his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the age of 92. He was born to King and Ruth Steward on November 25, 1933, in Lorenzo, Texas. Bill married the love of his life, Patricia Critchfield on February 5, 1955.

Bill proudly served in the Korean War as an 88M Motor Transport Operator. He enjoyed telling friends and family story after story of his service there. This was an important part of his life and he wanted to share it with everyone he knew.

While raising the family, Bill and his brother Bob owned and operated B&B Supply in Lubbock for almost 20 years. Bill was a faithful member of Indiana Ave Baptist Church. He deeply loved his Lord, his family, and his friends. He diligently led by example, and his faith was evident by the way he lived his life.

Bill is preceded in death by his beloved wife Particia Steward, his parents, his son Ronnie Steward, his daughter Rhonda Burkleo, his brothers, Bob Steward and Jerry Steward, his sister Barbara Steward, and one grandson Evan Steward.

He is survived by one daughter, Shelly Wilfong and husband Larry, three sons, Mark Steward and wife Dorothy, Larry Steward and wife Dorethy, Lloyd Steward and wife Lisa, and 9 grandchildren.
