Bill Cody
Brown Sr.
Feb 16, 1941 — Jul 20, 2026
Bill Cody Brown, Sr., aged 85, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 20, 2026.
Born in Sherman, Texas, on February 16, 1941, Bill grew up in a large family where he learned the value of hard work at an early age. He took on various odd jobs in his youth, including hauling hay and picking cotton by hand. In 1964, he began a dedicated, lifelong career working in the shipping department at Simmons Pump irrigation company.
A devoted family man and deeply loving grandparent, Bill's greatest joy was simply being around his family. He cherished a home filled with life and particularly loved the sound of little feet playing in the yard and running through the house. When he wasn't spending time with his loved ones, Bill could often be found tending to his impressively large gardens, tinkering with motors, fixing anything that happened to be broken, or enjoying peaceful walks with his dog, Roscoe.
Bill is survived by a large and loving family, including his children: Annette and Mark Perdue, Billy and Kimberley Brown, Travis Brown, Brenda and Ronny Stroud, Dianna Walters, and Dana Brown; as well as his sister, Fredia Lee Sneed. His wonderful legacy continues to grow through his 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Bill Cody Brown, Jr.; his father Walter Brown, Sr, mother, Pearl Durine Phelps; and his siblings, Walter Jr, Carroll, Wilbur "Pete", Selma, Charles, Donald, Roy, Reba, Charlene, and Arnold; and daughter-in-law, Donna Brown.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at Adams Funeral Home, located at 520 Watts Ave. in Ralls, Texas on Friday evening, July 31, 2026 from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m.
