Antonio "Tony" Sanchez age 76 of Crosbyton, Texas passed away Sunday, July 26, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Tony was born on August 21, 1949 in Cuero, Texas to Bruno and Helen Sanchez. Tony was a graduate of McAdoo High School, he worked for the Crosbyton Independent School District as a loyal custodian for about 38 years before his retirement. Everyone knew he was a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed driving his motorcycle to car shows and small-town events, especially the Fourth of July celebration. He also enjoyed cruising around in his red Chevy truck. He enjoyed listening to music, drinking Lone Star Beer, watching the Steelers play, and spending time with family. In his earlier years, he loved singing and playing the guitar for friends and family. Everyone knew he was a great photographer and took many pictures of people in the community.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Bruno and Helen Sanchez , one sister and six brothers; Bruno Sanchez Jr., Johnny Sanchez, and Benito Sanchez Sr, Mary Sanchez, Martin Sanchez, Jimmy Sanchez Sr, and Jessie Sanchez Sr.
Those left to cherish his memory are his three sisters and two brothers. His sisters are: Irene Almaraz, married to Pedro Almaraz Jr of Crosbyton, Rosie Mullins, married to Martin Mullins of Lubbock, and Annie Sanchez of Crosbyton. His brothers are: Frank Sanchez, married to Adel of Crosbyton, and Joe Sanchez of Crosbyton.
Pallbearers will be, Damien Sanchez, Nolan Salazar, Ethan Sanchez, Joaquin Sanchez, Xavier Perez, Rudy Sanchez Jr; Honorary Pallbearers will be, Anthony Sanchez, Amber Sanchez, Kiana Sanchez, and Novalee Salazar.
Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at the San Jose Catholic Church in Crosbyton, Texas.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at the San Jose Catholic Church in Crosbyton, Texas.
Services are under the care and direction of Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton.
