Angie “Chula” Reyes, 88, of Ralls, Texas, entered her heavenly home on Monday, September 21st, 2026 , surrounded by her loving family.

Angie was born November 3, 1937, in Hearne, Texas, to the late Victor and Petra Reyes. She married the love of her life, Jesus “Jesse” Reyes Sr., on October 6, 1957 in Bryan, Texas before settling in Ralls, Texas, where she was a devoted stay-at-home mom for many years before becoming a beloved educator.

A woman of deep Catholic faith and boundless devotion to her family, Angie lived a life rooted in service to others, exemplified by her many tireless years as an ESL educator to migrant students and by her devotion to her friends and community.

A lifelong parishioner of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Ralls, she was active in all aspects of the church. Her home was always open, her kitchen always warm. Her famous M&M cookies were treats enjoyed far and wide. The love and devotion to her “fifth” kid - beloved dachshund "Pinocchio” demonstrated her boundless love and generosity. While her family wandered to far-off places, she had great joy whenever she could gather generations around her table.

The number of people whose lives she touched through her devotion, love, and attention is countless. Her constant advice to parents and students was that reading was the door to opportunity. From their early childhood, she made sure that her children went to the library to explore the bookshelves, and she often stayed up late playing Scrabble until all hours of the night with her kids.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jesus “Jesse” Reyes Sr.; her parents, Victor and Petra Reyes; her sisters, Modesta (“Molly”) Pena, Anita Quigano, Sophia Aguillon, and Bertha Perez.

She her legacy is carried forward by her children, Jesse (Myrene) Reyes Jr., Ginny (Johnny) Moreno, Bekki (Ronnie) Germany and Danny (Yolanda) Reyes; her grandchildren, Isabel & Joshua Reyes, John Austin (Katie) Moreno, Micaela (Mark Adam) Moreno-Greer, Amanda Aguilera, Larenda Reyes, Christopher (Bonnie) Germany, Shara (Riley) Stanford;, and great grandchildren, Julian and Joshua Moreno-Greer Alice Moreno, Harli (Xander Smith) Stanford, Haylen Stanford, and Arya Germany; and great-great granddaughter, Madi Smith; and her beloved sister-in-law Irene Cruz. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved her dearly. 

Visitation will be Sunday, September 27, 2026 from 11am to 2pm, with a Rosary directly following at 2pm-3pm at St Michaels Catholic Church in Ralls Texas. Funeral Mass will be Monday, September 28, 2026 at 10am at St Michaels Catholic Church in Ralls. Interment will follow at Ralls Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to The Ralls Library, or buy a book for a child and read it to them.
