Amelia Castillo Castro, 81 passed onto her heavenly home on December 29, 2021 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on July 10, 1940 to Edemencio "Mencho" Castillo and Escolastica "Licha" Montemayor. She had five siblings; Mary Molina, Dominga Vasquez and preceded in death by Cruz Castillo, Bebe Galindo and Albino Castillo. Mrs. Castro married her husband Emilio P. Castro on October 22, 1960, in Round Rock, TX. He preceded her in death on February 2011.

She was a proud mother and grandmother, leaving behind her nine children; Mary Castillo (Lubbock, TX), Jesse Castro (Edmond, OK), Joe Castro (Lubbock, TX), Teresa Castro (Cedar Hill, TX), Rosario Castro (Lewisville, TX), Emilio Castro, Jr. (San Antonio, TX), Christopher Castro (Kansas City, MO), Johnny Castro (Irving, TX) and Adam Castro (Lubbock, TX). Mrs. Castro also leaves behind 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11am Monday January 3, 2022 at the Ralls Cemetery Chapel and will be officiated by Pastor Jesus Cisneros. Pallbearers include; Joe Castro, Adams Castro, Emilio Castro Jr., Chris Castro, Jesse Castro, Mark Tagle. Mrs. Castro left an enduring devotion of faith onto her family and they will miss her spirited personality. A mom's hug lasts long after she lets go--Unknown
