Obituary

Alfredo "Abel" Trevino was born in Plainview, Texas, on January 26, 1979, and was called home on September 4, 2025.

Abel was a devoted father, husband, grandfather, son, brother, Marine, mentor, advocate and friend. He is survived by his grandson, also named Abel; his five children, Jalissa, Esperanza, Kain-Alexander, Christian, and Aeon; his mother, Nora; his father, Fred; his
sister, Brenda; and his brothers, Jacob and Jason.

Abel lived a life defined by courage, loyalty, sacrifice, and service. In 1999, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country through 2008, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant and continued serve in the United States Army Reserves in 2011 through 2015.

His service was marked by extraordinary bravery, dedication to his fellow Marines and Soldiers, and an unwavering commitment to mission accomplishment. Abel earned numerous commendations and decorations throughout his military career and was proud
to serve the nation he loved.

Following his military service, Abel continued supporting the military community for 15 years through his work as a Tactical Subject Matter Expert, helping prepare future generations of service members for the challenges they might face in combat.

In 2020, he helped establish Apes 4 Change, a non-profit organization supporting toy drives, scholarships, shelters, and humanitarian projects around the world.

Abel also built a worldwide community through social media, where he advocated for veterans, mental health awareness, social justice, family relationships, and personal growth while making people laugh.

One of Abel's greatest passions was riding his Road King Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The freedom of the open road and the brotherhood of the motorcycle community brought him immense joy.

In keeping with his wishes, a ceremonial portion of his ashes is scheduled to be launched to the moon aboard a future space mission, symbolizing the larger-than-life spirit that defined him.

Those who knew Abel remember a man of strength, determination, loyalty, and deep devotion to those he cared about. Though he carried the invisible wounds of war, he remained proud of his service and his relationships with all.
