Alejandro Ybarra, 93, of Lorenzo passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family. He was born on February 26, 1932, in Las Minas, Eagle Pass Texas. Born to Primitivo and Ysabel Ybarra. He married Enedina on December 27, 1955.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Enedina, a son, Mario Isabel Ybarra, and his siblings; Pablo Ybarra, Victoria "Tolla" Hernandez, Arturo "Tucha" Ybarra, Alfredo "Ferro" Ybarra, Armando "Muende" Ybarra, and Beatrice "Pina" Luna.
He is survived by his children; Juan Guadalupe Ybarra, Lilia Ybarra and companion Jose Luis Lopez, Mario Ybarra and wife Norma, and Jose Alfredo Ybarra and wife Olga. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alejandro was a member of the San Lorenzo Catholic Church. He was involved with the Sacred Heart, Knights of Columbus 3rd degree and The Parish counsel. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and honorably discharged as a Specialist in 1960. Alejandro was a simple man who lived a simple life. He was passionate about education and the importance of higher learning. He instilled the ideal in his children and grandchildren by being an example by attending night school to earn his GED and then attended Texas Tech in the Spring of 1977. He was a social worker for Llano Estacado Farm Works of Texas. He himself was a migrant farm worker and a truck driver for local cotton gins and Sue's Trucking Company. In life he enjoyed playing the harmonica, reading, meeting new people, having good long conversations, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs. He was a proud America citizen and proudly served his country.
We will miss you more than words can express. We will carry your love and wisdom with us always.
