Adelina Martinez, 91, of Crosbyton passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016. She was born December 20, 1924 in Wilson County, Texas to Longino and Maria (Delgado) Guzman. She married Gilberto Martinez on November 2, 1941 in Spur, Texas. Adelina and Gilberto settled in Crosbyton at the Boyd ranch around 1948.
Adelina was a member of San Jose Catholic Church and was a Guadalupana. She was a homemaker, who dedicated her life to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Longino and Maria Guzman; her husband, Gilberto Martinez; her daughter, Janie Soliz; her sister, Filomena Ramirez; and her two brothers, Luis and Paul Guzman Sr.
Adelina is survived by her three daughters; Margarita Salas of California; Julia Jardon and Mary Rendon both of Crosbyton; two sons, Frank Martinez of Houston; Tony Martinez of Lubbock; her sister, Juanita Vallejo of Michigan; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; and twenty-two great-great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be held at 7pm on Friday, March 11, 2016 at San Jose Catholic Church in Crosbyton. Funeral Mass will be 10 am Saturday, March 12 at San Jose Catholic Church, with burial following in Crosbyton Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
