Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton started in the early 1920’s with a Mr. Hatchell selling caskets out of a hardware store. In 1926, the first undertaker David Aynes came to town and ran his business in the Dry Good Store. Then, Mr. A. A. Hatchell moved the business to the balcony of the hardware store in downtown Crosbyton. Sometime in the late 1920’s or early 1930’s Wiley Curry bought the funeral business and in the late 1930’s purchased the two-story red brick building at 622 West Aspen where the funeral home is still located. Sometime in the early 1940’s Wiley Curry sold the business to Mr. & Mrs. Will Marr of Ralls who owned and operated the business until 1945 when they sold it to A. R. & Geraldine King. Then, in 1973, the Kings sold the funeral home to Allan and Gail Adams who still own and operate it to this day.
